Although a popular summer destination thanks to islands like Mykonos and Santorini, the Cyclades have a wild and laid-back side that`s been kept away from mass-tourism. Departing from Paros, on this route we`ll island-hop around Milos, Amorgos, the Small Cyclades and Ios, so you can discover the exotic beaches, traditions, breath-taking views and tranquillity found in these islands. Discover the wild and laid-back side of the Cyclades, flavoured with traditions and hypnotising views.
Milos – The island of colors, this volcanic Greek island boasts a magnificent landscape with a coastline with over 40 exotic beaches like Sarakiniko and Kleftiko. Home of the Venus statue, which was discovered here in 1820, Milos impresses with a burst of colorful waters contrasting with white, pink or red shores. A variety of landscapes harbor spectacular caves, thermal springs and picturesque fishing villages and its rocky shores paint a unique exotic sailing paradise.
Amorgos – The island that became popular thanks to Luc Besson`s 1988 movie “The Big Blue”, Amorgos is a more quiet island, with minimal Cycladic architecture, hidden caves and high peaks perfect for hiking. Fabulous beaches embrace this piece of land untouched by mass tourism, so it’s the perfect place for privacy and tranquillity seekers. Chora, the main port is a delight to spend the afternoon in, walking on narrow alleys among whitewashed houses with colorful shutters.
The Small Cyclades – Still an insider`s secret, the Small Cyclades are a group of islands hidden away between Naxos and Amorgos. The slightly populated sister islands Iraklia, Schinousa and Koufonisia are surrounded by emerald waters, rocky coves and sandy beaches, perfect for island hopping. The roads are minimal and so are the tourists, since these hidden Greek gems are not known by many so expect to switch-off from the modern world and revert to island time.
Ios – Known as a clubbing hotspot for party seekers, Ios has a kick-back and relax side to it that some might not know of. Surrounded by sandy beaches and filled with beautiful churches and whitewashed houses on cobblestone alleys, this island is a diverse and flavored place, with gastronomic delights, like the watermelon pie with honey, that just needs to be tasted.
