Route description
A week in the Society Islands is a tonic for the soul. There’s no rush here – each day offers time for morning swims, long lunches on deck and slow coffee with mountain vistas. We designed this journey as a true escape from modern life. It’s a return to nature and an immersion in Polynesian hospitality.
One moment you’re anchored in a turquoise lagoon beneath Mount Otemanu, the next you’re strolling a tiny village marketplace perfumed with vanilla.
It’s sunrise snorkelling, a lazy sail to the next island, and dropping anchor just in time for sunset cocktails. No rush, no schedules – just you, your crew and the islands unfolding one by one.
Sail the turquoise lagoons of French Polynesia. Short distances, crystalline waters and evenings under the stars make it feel effortless.

Itinerary
Raiatea
Your adventure begins on Raiatea – The Sacred Island, the cultural heart of Polynesia. Before setting sail, visit the Taputapuarua marae, a UNESCO‑listed temple, and enjoy your first snorkel in the clear lagoon. Meet your crew, stock up on tropical fruit and local rum, then get ready for a week at sea.

Bora Bora
Prepare for a breathtaking four‑hour sail to Bora Bora – The Pearl of the Pacific. The silhouette of Mount Otemanu rising from the horizon will stay with you forever. Drop anchor in the turquoise lagoon and spend two days exploring: swim with manta rays and reef sharks, hike to panoramic viewpoints, and enjoy an unforgettable beach barbecue.

Huahine
An early-morning departure takes us to Huahine, a lush and authentic island known as the Garden Island.
Visit the village of Fare, taste fresh coconut bread, and see the sacred blue‑eyed eels and ancient Polynesian fish traps. The following day, cruise to Avea Bay for paddleboarding, kayaking and relaxing on white‑sand beaches

Taha’a
A short sail brings us to Taha’a – The Vanilla Island, perfumed by wild vanilla beans. Here you can visit a local vanilla plantation and a black‑pearl farm. Drift‑snorkel through the famous Coral Garden and discover fish of every colour.

What you get:
Catamaran Rental
Your spacious catamaran will be your floating home for the week. All boats are at least 42 ft, built after 2018 and equipped with navigation and safety gear. A fully equipped kitchen, refrigerator, bedding and towels, plus a dinghy with an outboard engine and a paddleboard, are included. Docking and fuel costs are covered in your price, so once on board all you need to do is relax and enjoy the turquoise lagoons.
Skipper
Your experienced skipper has completed intensive training, allowing you to unwind and enjoy the yachting lifestyle. Your skipper is not just your new best friend who knows all of the hidden gems, but they’re also there to guide you through all of the wonderful attractions on your itinerary and they’ll be more than happy to share some sailing skills and teach you the basic of how to navigate a yacht. Be ready to take part in a friendly regatta by the end of the week! 🙂
Sailing Community
This is not a “rent a boat and figure it out” kind of trip. It’s a well-organized sailing week with a pre-planned route, shared anchorages, and a flotilla of catamarans sailing together through French Polynesia. You’ll island-hop across the Society Islands — waking up in a new bay, exploring different islands, and meeting the same crew of sailors every day. Expect sunset meet-ups, easy logistics, and that rare feeling of traveling with a community that loves sailing and unforgettable destinations as much as you do.

How to get there
The nearest international airport is Faa’a International Airport (PPT) in Papeete, Tahiti. From there, take a scenic 45‑minute domestic flight to Raiatea or a ferry. Major carriers include Air Tahiti Nui, United and Air France.
Getting to Tahiti from Europe
There are no nonstop flights from Europe to French Polynesia, so you’ll need at least one connection.
-
Via Paris: Air Tahiti Nui and Air France run ~22‑hour services from Paris to Papeete, with a technical stop in Los Angeles.
-
Via the U.S. West Coast: Flying to Los Angeles or San Francisco and then connecting to Tahiti is a popular option; the final leg takes about eight hours.
-
Via Asia or the Pacific: Air Tahiti Nui operates two direct flights a week from Tokyo to Papeete (~10 h 45 m), and Air New Zealand links Auckland with Tahiti in just over five hours.
Depending on your route and layovers, the overall journey from Europe can take 24–36 hours, so plan your connections and transit formalities accordingly.
Inter‑Island Flights & Ferries
Two domestic airlines – Air Tahiti and Air Moana – link Raiatea with dozens of islands; flying to Bora Bora takes roughly 50 minutes. For short hops, ferries are scenic and affordable: boats run between Tahiti and Moorea about ten times daily, with crossings of 25–45 minutes, while shuttle boats connect nearby Raiatea and Taha’a within the same lagoon. Travellers seeking a slower pace can purchase an Apetahi ferry pass for unlimited island‑hopping over 30 days. Combining short flights and ferries is the easiest way to explore the Society Islands.
